Growing Minds Learning Hub

The Growing Minds Learning Hub welcomes students in grade 7 to 12 or aged 13 to 18 years who are working on distance or online programmes using the CAPS, Cambridge, Pearson, GED or IEB curriculum. 

The hub is run by a qualified senior/FET phase teacher who provides guidance and support to the students assisting them with lesson planning, managing their time and guiding them to find information to promote active learning.  The hub is open between 08h00 and 15h00 Monday to Friday during school terms and provides a structured environment to students with the flexibility of working at their own pace.  The hub also has wifi and printing facilities available to the students. 

In addition to the academic offerings, the hub provides opportunities for social interaction with activities such as table tennis, foosball and pool table and involvement in the events, activities and extra murals run by the Growing Minds Summerfield school campus.

Students also have access to the school’s Enrichment Centre with its on site therapeutic support and extension with access to both traditional (occupational therapy, education psychologists) and non traditional (Integrated Learning Therapy, neurofeedback, kinesiology) interventions.   Parents ort and parents can join the school’s P.E.G.S programmes (Parenting, Enrichment, Guidance and Support) which provides workshops, support on various parenting issues.
